A tie between you and the dealer: the term Push is used when both the dealer and the player finish their hand with the same value. In this case, a tie occurs and you are returned the amount you bet.

Step 1: Place Your Bet

Always Split Aces and Eights
When you are dealt two cards of the same type, you can split your hand. By doing this, you double your bet and play two separate hands in one round. 8s and aces are worth splitting. Splitting two aces is easy because it gives you twice the chance of getting a blackjack.
Splitting 8s makes sense, as 16s are one of the worst hands in the game. Once you split them, you can ask to draw or hit, as long as you don’t go over 21 with the first card.
Never Split 10s
Splitting two 10s may seem tempting, especially since the 10 is a very good starting card. You might have another 10 and a 9 in your hand, giving you a good chance of winning.
However, you may end up with a 4 and a 5. Having two 10s means your total is twenty, which gives you a good chance of winning this hand. This strategy actually refers to a very important golden rule in blackjack: don’t be greedy!
Forget Splitting 5s
I don’t recommend splitting two 5s. Together they make 10, which is a good start. If you hit and draw a 7 or higher, you’ll be in a good position to win.Â
If you split them, you’ll have two weak starting points. If you draw an extra card on one of the fives and get an 8 or an ace, you’ll find yourself in a blackjack crisis zone! So, forget splitting 5s.
Hit 16
Hitting a hard 16 ( “hard” hands are hands that don’t have an ace) isn’t risky. The opposite is risky. Players tend to stick with 16 because they’re sure to lose. It’s a possibility, but it’s less likely that the dealer will get more than 16. Hitting is a smart move that can turn things upside down.
Stand on 17 or Higher
Standing on 17+ is often the safest bet. Once you reach 18 or higher, your odds of winning improve significantly. But remember standing on 17 isn’t always a recommended option and certainly not exciting. However, it is usually the best option because there is a risk of hitting 21 and bust. So, stay on this number or hope.
Once you reach 18 or higher, you must stand. All of these numbers have a reasonable chance of winning, and once you reach 20, your chances of winning increase.
